The Initial Idea
Welcome to my first blog post! I started this website back in 2023. The idea was to build a platform about making money by being creative. I wrote some articles about building a website, writing a book, and investing in stocks.
Back then, the idea was to publish evergreen content and update only occasionally. Maybe release a non-fiction book, or an online course, and just treat this site as a very small side project.
A Blog where Writing Meets Investing
The more I thought about the non-fiction book, the more stuck I felt. Deep down, I knew that it was a fiction book I wanted to write. I made the decision to give the website a makeover and shift towards blogging about my writing, instead of letting the website stagnate. To add variety to the blog, I decided to explore another significant interest: investing. In this way, there will always be something to write about.
So, on this blog, you’ll discover my path to self-publishing alongside insights into my investment journey, detailing the stocks I’ve traded. I’m not giving any advice, I share my investments for inspirational purposes only. Remember, you’re investing at your own risk!
Why I’m Writing a Book
It’s difficult to pinpoint exactly when my writing journey began, but I’ve been writing since childhood. After completing a writing course a few years ago, I was motivated to take my writing to the next level. I then knew I would publish a novel one day.
I want to write a book for many reasons. It feels like a good way to share my thoughts. I’ve always preferred writing over speaking. Writing is my therapy where I can process emotions into something constructive. Condensing all my ideas into a book that can be shared feels very exciting. I’m incredibly grateful to live in a time when self-publishing is easier than ever.
The Idea Behind the Book
I am very fascinated by people who go their own way and implement changes. I admire the underdog who fights and never gives up. People who don’t care so much about what others say. Those who are embracing their true selves. What motivates us? Why are things the way they are?
The story itself came to me early. I envisioned two brothers who hadn’t seen each other in several years, and only one of them wants to reunite. They would be different, but deep down they care about each other. They’ve just drifted apart for some reason. Somehow, I wanted to weave in my interest in Japan and music, so one brother builds a Japanese-style house and the other is a pianist.
Then the main characters, Jakob and Sara, entered the picture, like two heroes who are stronger than they realize. I wanted to write about ordinary people who don’t have the best circumstances. I wanted to incorporate these two underdogs since it feels more interesting to get two perspectives on the same events.
What the Book is About
Jakob and Sara are very different individuals. A common denominator is that they are going through a tough time and don’t know how to get their lives in order. Jakob is stuck in a quagmire of temporary jobs. Sara works as a bus driver and also wants to do something else during the day.
When an unknown man appears and asks for their help, everything changes. Driven by a strong desire to reunite with his missing brother, he turns to Jakob and Sara to locate him. With some uncertainty about the task, they still decide to take on the challenge. It turns out that the brother is in Switzerland, so they go there to track him down and find out why he disappeared.
Writing for a Better Tomorrow
Without revealing more, Jakob and Sara face significant changes, and the overarching theme of the book is change. Taking a step into the unknown. I have done it many times, and it’s something I love to write about. In my book, there’s a quest for change, a desire to inspire.
Words can break down walls, build bridges, and foster understanding. Every time I write, it’s with the hope that my words will contribute to shaping a world where everyone has a voice, where everyone is seen, and where we all strive to make our planet a better place. So, I write for a better world.
