Feeling Good About My Writing
My goal is to finish up to Chapter 15 this year, and I’m currently working on Chapter 13. As it stands, it looks like I’ll reach my writing goal, which is a nice feeling. There’s nothing particularly noteworthy to say about the writing process; I’m writing a bit less now since it’s summer. I feel like I want a bit of a break from everything.
Keeping Up with My Writing Habit
I set the intention to write every day, and some weeks it’s gone well. I can definitely tell that I write more when I have that intention in place. Even if I just write or edit three sentences, it still counts. It keeps the text alive and the threshold for continuing remains low.
Getting Closer to the Cover Stage
I’m starting to think seriously about the cover design. I’ll be looking into the options available and, knowing myself, I’ll probably go back and forth quite a bit. Since this will represent the book long-term, it makes sense to give myself plenty of time to consider it carefully. That said, I’ve decided not to dive into the actual design process until I’ve reached Chapter 15.
Planning Ahead for Marketing
Recently, I’ve been thinking about how to market the book. One idea I’m exploring is creating a blog in Swedish, as my largest audience is probably located there. If I do start another blog, the book needs to be finished first. I don’t want to have yet another blog where I’m writing about an unfinished book. Still, I have a few ideas and I might go ahead and buy a domain and build the foundation for the site. For now, it’s just an idea I’m exploring.
What I’m Most Looking Forward To in My Writing
Right now, I’m most looking forward to finishing Chapter 13. It’s taken a bit longer than I expected, mainly due to a bar scene that I wasn’t sure was relevant to the story. I only have two more pages left to edit, and I should be able to finish those in July. It would be great to start Chapter 14 in August.
My Investment Goal Still in Sight
The portfolio continues to recover and is currently worth 169,333 SEK. I’ve chosen not to transfer any money into my savings this year, opting instead to build up a cash reserve. I need 30,667 SEK to reach my yearly goal, and even though things are looking bleak, I’m sticking to the target. The tide will turn eventually.
AMTD Digital and Enphase Are the Portfolio’s Losers
I’ve held these stocks for a long time, and there’s no sign of improvement. I’m debating what to do with them. For now, I’ll let them sit for a bit longer. It would take a lot for the situation to change.
I’ve started letting go of old failed investments and shifted my strategy. Technically, I could hold onto them since the loss has already happened. It feels more like I’m selling them just to make the portfolio look better. What matters most is that I’ve finally learned not to invest too heavily in a single stock.
Sometimes You Just Need to Take Some Profit
They say you should let your winners run and cut your losers, but that’s easier said than done. I sold all my Oracle shares and cut my Caterpillar position in half. I haven’t been doing much trading lately, so it felt nice to take some profit for a change.
My Thinking Around Investments
As you can see, the portfolio is continuing in the right direction. It’s really nice to see things turning around. I’m sticking to the current path and hoping for the best. A lot of reports will be released in the coming days, so it’s just a matter of waiting to see what happens.
A Mini Vacation
I ended up taking a small, somewhat unplanned vacation to the west coast. It felt great to recharge a bit. The weather was absolutely beautiful, and I had the chance to really let go of work. I’ll finish with a photo from Marstrand and keep my fingers crossed for a lovely summer ahead, both in terms of writing and investing.
I just have to be clear that I’m not a licensed financial analyst so I’m not giving any advice. This blog post is just pure inspiration. Remember that you invest on your own risk!
